Question: What is Woodbine House?

Answer: Woodbine House is a publisher specializing in books about children with special needs. Our titles within the Special-Needs Collection cover AD/HD, autism, celiac disease, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, spina bifida, early intervention, inclusion, special education, communication skills, and more. Since 1985 we've prided ourselves on publishing books of the highest quality and best value for parents, children, therapists, health care providers, and teachers. Read About Us for more information.

Question: What is Woodbine House's mission?

Answer: Woodbine House's mission may seem obvious to you--to make money publishing books--but in truth, there is much more to Woodbine House than that. Here is our mission statement:
Woodbine House publishes books that are, without condition or qualification, useful, informative, compassionate, and well written. We are committed to putting in the work necessary to make each book we publish truly excellent. We have an unlimited commitment to deserve the praise from our readers. And, when a book is ready, it is published at the lowest possible price consistent with company survival. We do not just posture caring about the value of our books to our readers as a public relations gimmick, we actually do care about it.

Read About Us to find out why we chose this as our mission and our reasons for molding Woodbine House this way.

Question: I have some questions about a disability. Can you help me?

Answer: We will try to answer any question you might have, even if we do not publish a book that addresses your question. We can direct you to many sources of information---our books, authors, and disability organizations--that can best answer your questions.

Question: How do I send you comments and suggestions about your books?

Answer: We need to know what our readers think of our books for a couple of reasons. Like everyone else, we live for praise--we love to hear parents tell us that one of our books has helped them and how it has helped them. More important, however, we also need constructive criticism and suggestions so we can make sure our books truly help our readers. Please take the time to tell us what you think. We pay close attention to our readers' comments.
